ONDO APC PRIMARIES: A SCREWED PROCESS, BUT WE MOVE ON
The 2020 Governorship Primaries of the All Progressives Congress, APC, have been concluded and a winner declared, though the result was not what the majority of the Aspirants and party members had looked forward to, we have moved on in the overall interest of our great party.
At the Olayide Adelami Campaign Organization, we countenance the processes leading to the primary election for posterity, it is obvious that this was not the result we had yearned for based on our renewed vision to salvage our dear state.
The last few months helped me to better understand our people, our party, shared aspirations, goals and ideologies, convinced that better promotion of political awareness on good governance will help us rewrite the story of our dear Sunshine State.
Our campaigns were not about one man, but deep conviction of what needed to be done to ensure our party retains the state in the upcoming election.
As loyal partymen, my supporters across the 18 local governments have decided to put the past where it belongs, though with scars, trudge on because of our avowed belief and commitment in our great party, the All Progressives Congress.
Our trajectory of commitment to the welfare of Ondo state indigenes remains unchanged, our support structure for party members remain intact and we will continue to make necessary interventions in line with our constitutional rights and responsibilities.
On Thursday, I hosted my campaign team during which we took time to reflect on the events revolving the primaries and resolved to be committed to the progress and success of our great Party, APC, in the coming election.
We also had refreshing moments to wine and dine.
My admonition to them was drawn from Apostle Paul in the book of 2 Thessalonians 3:13 of the Holy Bible, “And as for you, brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good.” This is our cross! which transcends political ambition.
For risking everything, I thanked them for their immense support and expressed confidence that the great God will reward their labour of love much more abundantly.
To my children and delectable wife, Abosede, thank you for being a veritable partner in the many battles that we have successfully won together, with the Ondo 2020 project not an exception.
To the immutable ‘four’ delegates who refused to be bought over, you represent the spark of change and resilience needed to show that our great party should be, indeed, a political beacon of Hope.
To my dear supporters, your commitment and input in cash and kind are well appreciated.
A winner has emerged and we wish him the best in the October Election.
I am a proud Ondo State indigene and though we stumble today, we rise, run and fly because our Redemption is in God Almighty.
