2020 is another year for Governorship election in our sunshine State, preparation is in top gear to conduct primary election by all parties. The 2 most popular parties in the state need a lots of work to do, especially the PDP, who is still the strongest opposition. All hands must be on desk to retrieve power from the ruling party. In view of this, my candid advice to both the state chapter and the National is to follow the antecedent of how power was being hijacked in the past, from the antecedent, it has been an easy ride whenever an insider is being used to crack the camp of incumbent.
Starting from the government of Adefarati, a Strong Commissioner in the administration resigned and decamped to form alliance with opposition, this gave Dr Agagu edge way to unseat Adefarati.
However, this same Commissioner was made the SSG during Dr Agagu administration, he was benched but he manoeuvred himself to get Ministerial appointment which he eventually used to empower himself financially, cracked the camp of the incumbent Governor and form his structure in all over the 18 Local government. He resigned his Ministerial appointment to contest the Governorship slot and he eventually won.
In view of the above analysis, PDP as a opposition party need somebody from the camp of the incumbents Governor in Ondo State to win the Oct. 10 election. I call on our National leaders, especially the NWC, and the State Chapter of PDP to extent their search light to the camp of Aketi, to consider capable figure that can break the party as Candidate for us to achieve success in the coming election, somebody that has the grip of at least 1/3 of Assembly members and 1/3 of the present Cabinet. This has helped a lots in our previous election and will still help us If considered.
Thanks.
