Ondo North Senate: Ipinsagba Emerged Through Fake Delegates’ List —Ajipe

The outcome of the Saturday’s Senatorial primary of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Ondo North senatorial district that won by Pastor Jide Ipinsagba has been rejected by an Aspirant in the primary, Chief Alex Oluremi Ajipe.
Ajipe, an industrialist, alleged that the primary election was conducted with fake delegates, noting that many of the delegates who voted at the primary were unknown members of the APC.
Addressing newsmen in Akure, he therefore called on the party to nullify the election and set up another one in the interest of all aspirants involved.
Ajipe who described the process as a mockery of what normal Primary election should be, said the delegates’ list used for the primary was different from the one submitted to the INEC.
The APC stalwart, who scored 57 votes to follow Ipinsagba who had 268 votes in the primary, alleged that the primary election was marred with malpractices and irregularities as leadership of the party denied three out of the four aspirants access to the delegates lists and later changed the lists at the eleventh hour to the primary election.
According to Chief Ajipe, strange markets women and traders were presented to them as delegates, a development he described as ridiculous to a democratic process.
Also speaking, the Director General of the Ajipe Campaign Organisation, Barrister Tolu Babaleye pointed out that the party refused to address or attend to several petitions, protest and complaints by Chief Ajipe before and during the primary over failure to conduct Congress to pick ad-hoc delegates.
Babaleye however expressed his readiness to approach the appeal panel of the Party to seek redress over the manipulation.
