Ondo 2024: We will mobilise for Ohunyeye to emerge as Party’s flagbearer – APC Youth Group
A politically inclined Youth group in Ondo State under the aegis of Ondo State All Progressives Congress Youth Forum has expressed its determination and readiness to work unanimously for retired Gen. Olamide Ohunyeye to be the
party’s flagbearer for the November gubernatorial election in the state.
In a statement released in Akure on Friday 22 March 2024,after the group’s weekly meeting, Spokesman of the Forum, Odunayo Issac described Ohunyeye as the right man for the job
He said Ohunyeye would use his wealth of experience to stablize the state politically and in all facets of infrastructural,human capacity development,social services and industrial development.
The group stated that, having critically examined all the aspirants within the All Progressive Congress camp jostling for Ondo state number one seat, considering their experience and antecedents in public sector, their contributions towards the development of the state economically especially in term of security, Gen. Olamide Ohunyeye towered high above them all.
Issac said Ondo State APC Youth Forum is ready to join forces with the party leadership in the state both in persuasion and lobbying to ensure that Gen. Olamide Ohunyeye gets the required votes and support to be the party’s flag bearer.
They said they are sure the spirit of fairness by President Tinubu will give level play ground for all the aspirants to produce somebody with great experience and antecedents worthy of emulation as Gen. Olamide Ohunyeye as the party’s candidate.
“We are ready for the primary elections, whether, direct, indirect or whatever process, we are pitching our tenths with a product that’s acceptable to the people of Ondo State.
“Retired Gen. Olamide Ohunyeye is a brand name that can be trusted because of his track records in the military, it’s going to be a smooth ride for Gen. Ohunyeye.
All Progressive Congress primary election is scheduled to hold on the 25th of April while Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had announced November 16 2024 as the date for the Governorship election in Ondo State.
It is time to change the narratives of stagnated growth in Ondo through a neutral, untainted and manifestly prepared and sound administrator such as Gen Ohunyeye (Rtd)
