Ojudu, Tony Adeniyi, Adeyeye others lose at Court of Appeal, to face criminal investigation… As Ademola Popoola’s case suffers set back
Senator Ojudu, Tony Adeniyi, Adeyeye and others are now to face criminal investigation following their failure to stop the Commissioner of Police from investigating them on the allegation they made against justices of the Court of Appeal that sat on Olujimi Vs Adeyeye election petition suit in Kaduna sometimes in 2020. The Court of Appeal sitting in Ado Ekiti struck out their appeal against an earlier decision of the High Court to the effect that the police cannot be prevented from doing its job.
It will be recalled that this suit originated from an allegation made by Ojudu and others that the Governor of Ekiti State and the State Attorney General conspired with the Justices of the Court of Appeal to deny Adeyeye of his senatorial ticket. This ruling now paves way for the police to invite Ojudu and other to prove the said allegation.
In another matter,Ademola Popoola’s case challenging BAO’s emergence as the APC Guber candidate for June 18 Governorship election in Ekiti State has suffered a setback at the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos. The court this morning declined jurisdiction to hear the matter and directed that the matter be transferred to Ekiti State.
