The Ondo State Youth Parliament observed with serious concern an unauthorized award purportedly given to the Vice Chancellor of the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo, Prof Adesegun Fatusi by Hon. Joseph Akinkuotu representing Ondo West Constituency I on behalf of the Parliament and other unparliamentary conducts and actions capable of bringing the Parliament to disrepute, while the parliament do not have any issue personal against the vice chancellor.
The Parliament however consider Hon. Joseph Akinkuotu’s action as a deliberate violation and conscious indictment of legislative protocols. At no time did the Parliament discuss or resolve to give award to people, deserving or undeserving. Even if we will do, there shall be a parliamentary resolution to that effect.
After careful deliberation, the Parliament hereby suspend Hon. Joseph Akinkuotu indefinitely. His matter has been referred to the House Committee on Business Rules and Ethics for further action.
In the meantime, the public are enjoin to avoid any transaction with him as regards the Ondo State Youth Parliament.
