The National Publicity Secretary of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN), Pharm. Sunday Ike has been gruesomely murdered.
The report of the gruesome murder of Ike was broken in a letter that was addressed to the National Executive Council of ACPN and all Community Pharmacists in Nigeria by the National Secretaryof the association, Pharm. Abosede Idowu on Saturday, June 20, 2020.
According to newpotage that the late deceased through a letter written by his association which described him as a passionate Community Pharmacist who was always professing that Pharmacy profession would be better in Nigeria. The letter also captured he deep sadness of ACPN members on the gruesome murder of Pharm. Sunday Ike.
The letter reads in part, “Esteemed colleagues, we were deeply saddened to hear about the gruesome murder of one of our
lieutenants, Pharm. Sunday Ike.
“Our thoughts are with you all and most importantly our hearts go out to the family of our departed National Publicity Secretary during this difficult period”.
Meanwhile, the association has drawn the attention of the federal government and that of concerned general public to the plights and vulnerabilities of their members who are the closest healthcare provider in the heart of communities across the country.
However, the association has urged all Community Pharmacists in the country to shut down their premises by 7:00pm on Saturday, June 20, 2020 in solidarity of mourning their departed colleague.
“We hereby call on all Community Pharmacists in Nigeria to shut down their premises by 7.00pm today, Saturday 20th June 2020 as we mourn our departed colleague”.
