SAVE MY SOUL: A DISTRESS CALL TO YOUR GOOD OFFICE TO RESCUE MY AMBITION TO CONTEST THE CHAIRMANSHIP POSITION OF ONDO STATE CHAPTER OF THE ALL PROGESSIVES CONGRESS.
I am Elekan Shola Raphael of the above address and a foundational member of our great party in Ondo State. I have been an active member at all Levels of the Party since the very beginning and contributed greatly to the development of this great party of ours.
It is because of my love for our great party that I decide to contest the State Chairmanship position. The Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) published “2021 Nationwide States Congresses Schedule of Activities” signed by Sen. John James Akpanudoedehe Ph.D, the National Secretary of Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC).
On the 16th day of September, 2021, I went to United Bank of Africa, Akure and made payment of the sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira in strict compliance to the above referred Publication of Sen. John James Akpanudoedehe Ph.D, the National Secretary of Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC). I thereafter proceed to the State Secretariat in Akure where I met the Director of admin- Mr. Smart Omotunbi, I showed him my payment teller. Immediately, he told me in a very emphatic manner that the Form for the Chairmanship position and other State executive positions are not available for any interested member of the Party in Ondo State save the present acting executives. He said the above referred Publication of Sen. John James Akpanudoedehe Ph.D, the National Secretary of Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC)was just a mere formality in Ondo State. He then chased me out of the Secretariat.
I however find this my above narrated ordeal at the State Secretariat, Akure unbelievable as it negates the aims and objectives of this great Party of ours as stipulated in Article 7 of All Progressives Congress Constitution. What baffles me more is whether those undemocratic and disenfranchising information of Mr. Smart Omotunbi were his position or he acted as the Publicity Secretary of our great party in Ondo State.
Based on the above, I made this representation to your good office to intervene and direct that the State Chairmanship position form which I paid for on the 16th day of September, 2021 [evidence of which is attached thereof] be issued to me within the next seven (7) days. Failure to do this, I shall be left with no option than to treat Mr. Smart Omoduni’s position as stated above as the Party’s position which will leave me with no choice but to approach a Court of competent jurisdiction.
