Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, on Wednesday visited the palace of the late Owa-Ale, Oba Adegbite Adedoyin to condole with the people of Ikare-Akoko over his demise.
The Governor who was in Ikare-Akoko in continuation of his local government campaign rally said he has always visited the palace anytime he is in Ikare for political campaigns.
While describing his death as unfortunate, Governor Akeredolu said the late monarch was a pillar of support and a friend of his administration.
He said:”There is no time we come here for campaign that we don’t come to this palace. And we have always received Owa Ale’s blessings. I have known Baba for long. Long before my coming into politics.”
Responding, Olori Titilayo Adedoyin appreciated the Governor for his interventions when the late Owa-Ale was on sick bed.
She said:”I want to thank you, sir. Words are inadequate to express my gratitude to you. When it was hard, even in the dead of the night, I would call you and you would pick. Everything we demanded , you did.
“You have acted well even behind the dead. The king blessing is upon you still. He gave it about four years ago and it’s still there. We pledge our loyalty to you on behalf of the Ogota community.”
Governor Akeredolu later met the chiefs in the community and solicited their supports ahead of the October 10 governorship election.
