GOV AKEREDOLU RECEIVES MORE DIGNITARIES ON CONDOLENCE VISIT IN AKURE
•Says His Mum Was A True Evangelist
•Ondo Chief Judge, Archbishop, Heads Of Security Agencies, Traditional Rulers, Others Commiserate With Governor
Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has described his late mother, Lady Evangelist Grace Bosede Akeredolu JP, as a true evangelist who preached gospel of the Lord to villages and won souls for Christ.
The Governor said his late mother was a prayer warrior, adding that her prayers and those of other well wishers sustained him till now.
Governor Akeredolu spoke on Tuesday while receiving various groups and dignitaries who came to condole with him at the Presidential Lodge, Government House, Alagbaka, Akure.
Among the early callers were the Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Ondo Anglican Communion, Most Rev Dr. Simeon Borokini, and other Bishops within the Province; Heads of security agencies in the state led by the State Commissioner of Police, Oyeyemi Oyediran; the management and Board members of OSOPADEC led by the Chairman, Sam Erejuwa; and Prince Abiodun Derin Adesida,.
Other visitors include the leadership of Ondo State Judiciary led by the Chief Judge, Justice Akinlolu Akintoroye; the Managing Director/CEO of Wema Board, Mr Oluyemi Ijidiran; the management team of the Ondo State Internal Revenue Service led by the Executive Chairman, Tolu Adegbie, and the National Council for Women Society (NCWS), Ondo State chapter, led by the Chairperson, Dr Jumoke Aborode.
Also on a condolence visit were the 130 Crowns led by their chairman; Oba Samuel Adeoye, the Molokun of Atijere; the Owa-Ale of Iyometa-Ikare, Oba Adeleke Adedoyin, and other High Chiefs; the Iralepo of Isinkan, Oba Oluwagbemiga Ojo, and other Chiefs, and a host of others.
Governor Akeredolu thanked the visitors for the condolence visit, adding that his late mum was a great woman and good mother.
“It is her prayers and that of others that have been sustaining me. We are product of prayers. Prayers have put us where we are today.
“My mum was truly an Evangelist. I could remember that every Sunday, when she was still strong, she was in many villages wining souls and distributing different things to poeple. Another important thing is that she was a prayer warrior. She was a very good mother,” the Governor said.
The Governor was joined by his Deputy, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and some members of the State Executive Council.
“Mama did not die, mama slept in the Lord. That is our belief as christians. It is our belief that when a good christian passes on, his or her body is taken to the bosom of Abraham. We believe that her work will follow her,” Governor Akeredolu added.
The visitors, who congratulated the Governor and his siblings for surviving their aged mother, stressed that they did not visit the Governor to commiserate but to congratulate him for surviving the nonagenarian.
They also prayed for the repose of the Late Evangelist Grace Akeredolu, saying her good legacies will continue to live after her.
According to the various visitors, the demise of Lady Evangelist Grace Akeredolu, though painful, was glorious.
One after the other, Governor Akeredolu took his time to receive the visitors and appreciated them for identifying with him at this period.
