Appeal No. CA/AK/EPT/NASS/184/2022-OLUMUYIWA SYLVESTER ADU & PDP VS ALADE LAWSON & TWO OTHERS.
This appeal against the judgement of the tribunal which affirmed the mandate of Hon. Alade Mayokun as the winner of the bye election came up today before the court of appeal Akure Division presided over by Justice Lukolu-Sodipe, Hon. Justice A. Abiru and Hon. Justice. Y.A Bashir JJCA for hearing.
Judgement: The Appeal was found to be incompetent and was dismissed by the Court after they agreed with Hon. LAF’s lawyer, Mr. Abiola Olawole that the appeal ought to be dismissed.
With this judgement, there is no further appeal against the mandate of Hon Mayokun Lawson Alade because under the constitution, the court of appeal is the final court for determination of appeal arising from National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal.
The MHR can now stay focused in the discharge of his parliamentary duties.
