Breaking: Sporadic Gun Shot at Ake Palace as Amosun’s Loyalists turn against each other
Ake Palace ground, the official seat of the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Aremu Gbadebo, has been thrown into confusion as loyalists of former Gov Ibikunle Amosun are openly shooting at each other following a state congress of the All Progressives Congress (APC) being organized by Amosun faction.
A source close to Amosun camp says” The camp of the former Governor has broken into factions over the so-called congress as the majority are against it preferring to be at the MKO Abiola Stadium where the state congress of the APC approved by the National Extraordinary Convention/Caretaker Committee of the party is being held”
“A tiny fraction of Amosun’s supporters at the Ake palace ground were, however, insisting on the fake congress as the situation didn’t go down well with the majority”
“Fight broke out when they turned their guns against each other, it was learned.
Some of the supporters after taking to their heels to avoid being hit by bullets wondered aloud why the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Gbadebo would open the palace ground for such partisan gathering.
