ASUU: Soldiers shoot, distrupt protest by Ondo students
Men of the Nigerian Army have disrupted a peaceful protest by students of public universities in Ondo state against the failure of the federal government to meet the demands of the striking lecturers.
The soldiers, who were traveling on Akure Ilesha Highway dismantled the canopy and barricades erected by the protesting students.
They fired sporadically into the air to pave way for their convoy to go through.
Some students and passers-by scampered for safety as they ran in different directions to avoid being hit by a stray bullet.
Policemen, Amotekun corps and Civil Defence Officials were helpless as they watched the soldiers carried out the act.
