ADA OWERE 1: IT’S A TESTIMONY THAT YOU’RE LOVED BY ALL, ADEKANMBI EULOGIZES BETTY AKEREDOLU
The Executive Director of Lufem Groups Asiwaju Adekanmbi Femi has congratulated the first lady of Ondo State, Chief Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu on her conferment of chieftaincy title as the Ada Owere 1 of Owerri land.
Adekanmbi, in a congratulatory message through his media aide, in Akure the state capital, described the chieftaincy title conferment as a welcome development, saying the award and title is well deserved given the monumental achievements of Chief Mrs Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu.
The Owo born entrepreneur cum politician said the commitment of the Ondo State first lady, Arabinrin Betty Anyanwu- Akeredolu to women empowerment is unquantifiable and highly commendable.
He noted that Arabinrin Akeredolu is the first Ondo State’s First Lady to embark on programmes that cut across emancipating the girl child, women and the less privileged , adding that Mrs. Akeredolu’s Breast Cancer Awareness program is second to none and has won international recognition which he believes makes her people to give her the highest chieftaincy title in the land .
Ada Owere 1 is the highest traditional title reserved for the women in the 43 dialectic ancient clans of Owerri who have distinguished themselves through selfless service to humanity especially in Owerri land which comprises Owerri West, Owerri East and Owerri Municipal.
Mrs Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu was said to have been given the award due to her contributions to the development of Owerri land by providing employment opportunities for the people, infrastructure and facilities development in Owerri land, facilitation of political appointment to sons and daughters of Owerri land and many more.
Adekanmbi, in his words, said: “Chief Mrs Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu is a woman of capacity, I know that this traditional chieftaincy title will spur her to do more for the growth and development of the kingdom.
“As a women’s rights activist and girl-child education advocate, you always lent your voice to the voiceless and the under-privileged women and girls in the society.
“Over the years, you have put the welfare of Nigerian children and women at the fore.
“Being a staunch critic of child marriage and violence against women, you are a role model to many women across the world.
“This chieftaincy title shows that you are loved by your people and you are a pride to them , a pride to everywhere and everyone you pass through. We are really blessed in Ondo State to have a wonderful woman like you. Congratulations mummy,” Adekanmbi said
