I support Gov. Obaseki 100% whether or not he comes to PDP, and I pray for him. It is no more news that PDP won the last governorship election at that time but Comrade Adams Oshiomohole and APC imposed him on the people of that state. Now, they are discarding him because God is using him to say NO to godfatherism.
I have been aware long time ago, and I still hold on to it, that God can use anybody to stop the excesses of anyone, He can even use one’s own son to stop his father’s excesses. And I am convinced it is exactly this that God is doing in Edo state and it is marvellous in my eyes.
I have no doubt that at the end of the Edo electoral debacle, new political trends/developments will take place and it will change the face of our electoral system one way or the other.
Having said all of the above, irrespective of what happens at the end of the election, Mr Oshiomhole will be the greatest loser: if his candidate wins, he has nothing to celebrate as he will have credibility and moral problems to contend with. He was the one who extolled the virtues of Governor Obaseki to high heavens in 2016/17. He convinced the whole world how good Obaseki was. How qualified he was. How helpful and useful he was and all the rest.
He also told the whole world how criminal pastor Ize Iyamu was. He went as far as making grievous criminal allegations against him, raging from acid attack on someone leading to his death to certificate inauthenticity.
The same Oshiomhole has now turned the person he told the whole world about that is a criminal with such massive allegations, a saint, while he is at the same time turning the person he said was the most qualified and best for the job in 2016, to a monster. Is that not grievous credibility lauggage on the part of Oshiomhole? Does such a person need to be taken serious?
Oshiomole will also lose more if his candidate does not win. That will be where his biggest shame in life will be, and it will be obvious.
Therefore, I want to say, without mincing words, that head or tail, Oshiomole does not win.
Let me add by saying that, this may be God’s way of retrieving the mandate freely given by the people of Edo state to the PDP, back to the PDP.
Let’s have our fingers crossed.
