A group under the aegis of Ondo Reform Vanguard has called on the state Government to investigate the ongoing abnormalities and fraud going on in some of the State Government reserved lands
In a statement issued in Akure on Sunday by the Convener of the group, Hon. Aladesuyi Isreal and Publicity Secretary Comr. Okeowo Olabode, they described the company claiming to be working for Ministry of Agriculture, distributing unauthorised forms to the farmers asking for a certain fee for them to be registered
The group said the process is fraudulent and illegal.
Recalled that the Ondo State government during the administration of Late Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN had signed a Memorandum of Understanding
with foreign investors with a certain renewable amount which is yet to expire.
The group wondered why the self- acclaimed consultant is now distributing forms and collecting money from illegal occupants of such reserved area.
The statement added, “Receiving unauthorised fee from occupants of reserves is tantamount to double taxation which Ondo State Internal revenue service and the Ministry of Agriculture need to investigate the matter.’
The group however urged the Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa to set up a panel to investigate the illegal occupants of the government reserves and identify the consultant carrying out the fraudulent act, collecting revenue without government knowledge.
