*30 Years Anniversary: Akoko North West LG Has The Needed Resources To Thrive Further — BTO*
The member representing Akoko North East/North West Federal Constituency at the Green Chamber, Rep. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has noted that Akoko North West local government area of Ondo state is poised for greatness.
The people are celebrating the 30 years existence of the local government, which was created in 1991 with the headquarters in Okeagbe Akoko.
He said the local government has birthed eminent sons and daughters who have become successful in their different endeavours.
The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in a statement by his Special Adviser on New Media, Alao Babatunde, encouraged the people of the local government area to continue to exhibit peaceful co-existence which has overtime become the strength of the council area.
According to him, “Akoko North West local government has what it takes to set the pace for other 773 local governments in the country.
“Our land is fertile and we have human resources too. Our people love farming but have been in times past faced with challenges.
“This spurred us to influence the construction of some strategic roads in the local government and we are working to connect our people to the right markets as more road constructions will be ensured.
“Beyond this, we have worked to improve the health sector, and also secure the lives and properties of our people with the provision of patrol vehicles for our security men.
“We know the challenges and with the joint efforts of all stakeholders, we will overcome them.
“I congratulate our people as we celebrate the 30 years existence of our local government,” he said.
